About

4MB Interactive was founded on August 10th 2015. I (Tom Gilchrist) was messing around with Unreal Engine trying to figure out how it worked when I accidentally got a game through Steam Greenlight and was forced by Valve to become some vaguely professional outfit to flog my game on their lovely platform.

We love old games here at 4MB Interactive. Our games are built using modern tech but with an eye on the past as we love a bit of nostalgia. Expect some new twists on classic titles or interesting mash-ups but we are not averse to creating a brand new genre and revolutionizing the games industry if we have to.

Why 4MB? Two reasons really but simply it is because I love Sega. While looking for some inspiration for names, I read that the Sega Master System (my first ever console) had some cartridges with 4Mb worth of memory. Also, 4MB was the size of the RAM cartridge that was required to play some of the games on the Sega Saturn. I always wanted one of these when I was a kid so I could play the awesome Capcom fighting games. Never got one at the time but the cartridge now sits on the shelf above my desk.

We are not four mega-bits or four mega-bytes; we are simply four em-bee interactive.
