Time To Spring Into Action!
Because it is Spring! The season is basically Spring now!
2019 was rubbish, wasn't it? I don't know many people who had a good 2019. On a global level 2020 is a total train but all this working at home means I can finally dedicate some proper time to making games and attempting (for the millionth year in a row) to gain some sort of traction with 4MB Interactive. To that end here is a blog post detailing exactly what I am working on and what is in the pipeline for the next few months. As usual none of this will actually happen but hey...it might?
Updates to Omvorm on Switch on the way, explain missing file thing
Omvorm is being updated to 60 frames per second! What an achievement. Also the logo is being updated to our fancy new logo. These small changes were actually incredibly difficult to get sorted as I managed to somehow delete the original Omvorm file and Nintendo need this in order to create a patch. So that was fun! But luckily the wonderful people at Nintendo managed to send me that original file and now I can update the game.
Whether I look to do any actual meaningful updates again in the future is unclear. I did have some other multiplayer ideas but at this state, not sure I will pursue these. Just happy to have it running well on Switch and now of course also on PC! Hoping for this update to drop in the next week or two.
Urban Jogging Switch release delayed due to it being so so broken
This is another game heading to the Switch but it has run into a GIANT WALL OF GAME BREAKING BUGS! So I am currently working through them but it is taking a while. As I think I mentioned elsewhere, the game has been totally rebuilt and it looks/runs a lot better now but there are some weird physics bugs that will need resolving before we can re-release this.
My heart says April will be the time, my head says maybe the summer but I will keep plugging away at this one over the next couple of weeks. It was plopped onto the backburner recently because of...
New PC/Switch game, bit small and experimental
Yes I am stupid. Started working on a new game when I have plenty of other stuff to work on. But the good news is, this game is 95% finished already. It is a very small, very simple game that was conceptualised along with a friend of mine. Won't share any other details on this one just yet but hoping to be sending this to Nintendo to test before the end of March.
Undead Blackout Xbox One to release in the summer
Once all the above is sorted it will finally, finally, finally be time to get Undead Blackout: Reanimated Edition onto Xbox One. Honestly I will not rest until this game gets released on Xbox. This is going to coincide with the 2.2 and 2.3 releases of the game on Steam with 2.3 being the version that should launch onto Xbox. At least, this is the plan at present. In an ideal world this will come out before the end of summer but this will be my first time going through Microsoft's certification process so I am not entirely sure of timelines etc.
Right that is it for now. A lot to be getting on with over the next few months but hopefully by August we will be in a position to well and truly focus on new projects. Sunday League Heroes is on hold but certainly not cancelled and I have a whole host of other ideas that I want to work on. Let's get cracking.
