4MB Interactive was founded on August 10th 2015 (under our old name) by me, Tom Gilchrist. I was basically messing around with Unreal Engine trying to figure out how it works when I accidentally got a game through Steam Greenlight and was forced by Valve to become some vaguely professional outfit in order to flog my game on their lovely platform.
We have gone through a few names as I am incredibly indecisive and get bored quickly. First off we were Broken Pad Games, then we were Borderline Inappropriate Game Studios. That name was way too long (and also rubbish) so I decided to try and find a name with a bit of meaning. While reading about the Sega Master System, which was my first even games console, I saw that the game cartridges held up to 4 MB of memory (according to this website) and so inspiration was found and 4MB Interactive was born.
We release games for Console, PC and Mobile devices and don’t like to stick to any one genre or type of game. Except some experimentation!
Get in touch if you have any questions or just want to point out one of the many, many bugs in one of my games.
Who Are We?
Tom Gilchrist - Founder/Creative Director
Founder of 4MB Interactive and chief game maker person, Tom taught himself Unreal Engine 4 while working in a normal day job and somehow still found time to grow a crap beard and let his hair become an unkempt mess.
Sam Gilchrist - Art, Music, QA
Tom's younger and more attractive brother Sam is a talented musician and artist. He takes care of all the 3D modelling and audio that Tom is simply too stupid to do himself.
